Year 10 student Halle will attend a glitzy awards dinner after being shortlisted for the ‘Youth Sport Trust Outstanding Young Person 2020 Award’.
Taking place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Thursday (27th), it is expected to be attended by some famous faces, including England rugby union coach Eddie Jones.
The dinner will come at the end of a day-long conference she is attending as a YST Young Event Host.
She was nominated by the Academy for the top award because of her contributions to PE and Sport and particularly her role during National School Sport Week.
The award will go to the young person who has demonstrated the skills and confidence to undertake social action or lead change in their school or community.
PE teacher Mr Oates had originally nominated Halle on to Young Event Hosts two-year development programme run by the Youth Sport Trust.
Principal Mike Adnitt wished Halle all the best for Thursday.
“The fact she has been shortlisted for the outstanding young person award is a great tribute to her and the efforts she has made,” he said.
“We hope she enjoys a fantastic day on Thursday at the conference and wish her well for the awards dinner.”
