Elves raise spirit and fun

Students and staff participated in an Elf Yourself Run fundraising event in support of Lindsey Lodge Hospice.

Going around the Academy’s perimeter, the run saw participants pick up different items from six stations, transforming each into certified elves by the end of the run.

Principal Mike Adnitt said it had been an enjoyable afternoon.
“I’d like to thank everybody who organised and participated in the event,” he said.

“There was a terrific atmosphere and it raised the Christmas spirit, as well as money for a terrific cause.”
The Elf Yourself Run was one element of The Duke of Edinburgh students’ volunteering project.

They have also been to the Lindsey Lodge Hospice to do two fundraising car washes and visited the distribution centre to support the community.
All the funds they have raised will be added up at the end of their project.
